Although it is located in a residential area, the taste and atmosphere of Aizu Coffee Club (会津珈琲倶楽部) have rightfully earned it a reputation. It is the best place in Nanukamachi (a station from Aizu-Wakamatsu Station) to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Not only does the cafe offer coffee brewed from high-quality beans, but the ingredients used for breakfast, lunch, and desserts are all fresh and carefully picked. So no matter what you order, we are sure it will taste incredible!
As its name suggests, the cafe is like a stylish club. From the lighting to furniture and tableware, the space where you can relax is carefully designed to ensure a cozy experience. Furthermore, Aizu Coffee Club has a kid’s area where toddlers and young children can enjoy their visit.
The Coffee and Food at Aizu Coffee Club
Like many other coffee specialists, Aizu Coffee Club purchases only high-quality raw beans. The beans are then roasted and served hand-drip when ready to be brewed into coffee. Thus, the coffee tastes fresh with no unpleasant aftertaste. The rich aroma of the coffee fills the cafe and entertains your sense of smell. Moreover, you will be surprised by the teacup collections at the counter. Many of them are from famous makers and have a high price tag. Apparently, the owner would select the coffee cup that suits the customer best.
Aizu Coffee Club offers three breakfast set menus. Each comes with at least a piece of toast, a cup of coffee, and a few side dishes, including steamed vegetable salad. The vegetables are freshly harvested from local farms, allowing you to enjoy their original sweetness.
If you are a vegetarian or vegan, please note that bacon and eggs are part of the set menu. To accommodate your dietary needs, kindly call +81-242-279-012 at least a day in advance to request a change to the menu, substituting the meat and eggs for more salad.
If you are there for morning or afternoon tea, order a piece of homemade cake or pie. The cakes made with seasonal fruits or even vegetables are amazing.
Tips for Visiting Aizu Coffee Club
- While the entire space is Western-style, the soba noodles on their lunch menu taste exceptional! Just note that the dipping sauce/broth contains seafood extract. If you don’t eat seafood, have the noodles with salt instead. The noodles would still taste good due to the quality.
- Making a reservation by calling +81-242-279-012 is recommended as it takes time for them to prepare your meal.
- The Breakfast menu is served until 10 am and needs to be reserved.
- Check with the staff to see if they are still reducing the amount of food for those who cannot eat much (if applicable)
