What Time Does Tokyo Disney Resort Open?
The question may sound stupid, as the information is widely available on Google and Tokyo Disney Resort’s website. However, it is a valid question when it comes to Tokyo Disney Resort because the theme park usually opens before its official opening hours! If you don’t plan on purchasing Disney Premier Access but want to enjoy as many rides as possible, entering Tokyo Disney Resort before the park opens is a must on busy days.
- Weekdays/off-season: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea usually open between 8:45 am and 9 am.
- Weekends/busy season: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea usually open between 8:30 am and 8:45 am.
Long queues usually form by 8 am. Going through baggage and security checks at the entrance takes even more time. If you want to enter the Tokyo Disney Resort at 9 am, please arrive early.

Tip: The best time to go to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea is on weekdays from mid-January to mid-February and mid-April, before Golden Week. The theme park is less busy during these parts of the year.
How Early to Get to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea
Tokyo Disney Resort tends to open 15 to 45 minutes earlier than the time announced on the official website to reduce congestion at the entrance. Therefore, the recommended arrival time for Tokyo Disney Resort is at least one hour before the official opening time.
If you have purchased the One-Day Passport (1デーパスポート), the recommended arrival time for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea is by 8 am (assuming the resort opens at 9 am).

Tips:
☛ As the first wave of crowds arrives on the first train to Maihama Station, stay at Spa & Hotel Maihama Eurasia the night before so you can walk to Tokyo Disneyland/Tokyo DisneySea instead of catching the first train.
☛ Refer to HERE for information about how to buy Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea tickets, including the ticket price.

Important: Please ensure you don’t bring any prohibited items listed on the Official Website to Tokyo Disney Resort.
Tips:
☛ The baggage checkpoint in front of Disneyland Station may be less packed as most guests would use the one closer to Maihama Station or the car park.
☛ Please put all your belongings in your bag and arrange them in a way that is easy for the staff to check. This will shorten the time spent at the baggage checking point.
The Baggage Check at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea
Baggage check is performed before you can enter Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. This is especially a concern if you plan to visit Tokyo DisneySea. Why? Because the baggage check points for Tokyo DisneySea are in front of the entrance. This means the number of guests who can have their baggage checked before the park opens is limited.
The Baggage Check at Tokyo Disneyland
Baggage inspection at Tokyo Disneyland takes place before you join the waiting line for the park to open. If Tokyo Disneyland officially opens at 9 am, baggage inspection usually starts between 7 am and 7:30 am.
There are three baggage check points at Tokyo Disneyland.
- Near JR Maihama Station (the green circle)
- In front of Disneyland Station (the blue circle)
- Near the car park (the red circle)
As walk-through security screening is used at the checkpoint in front of Disneyland Station, the time it takes per person to be inspected is short, and the line moves quickly.

However, please note that you may not be able to get to the area in front of the Disneyland Station. Please follow the instructions of the cast members on the day.
The Baggage Check at Tokyo DisneySea
Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, guests will first wait in line for the park to open. Once Tokyo DisneySea is about to open, baggage inspection will begin. If Tokyo DisneySea officially opens at 9 am, baggage inspection usually starts between 8 am and 8:30 am.
Tokyo DisneySea has two baggage check points.
- Near Tokyo DisneySea’s north entrance (the blue circle)
- Near Tokyo DisneySea’s south entrance (the red circle)

Which Area to Queue at Tokyo DisneySea, the North or South Entrance?
Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea’s entrance is narrower. Currently, Tokyo DisneySea has two gates: the North Entrance and the South Entrance. We would recommend queuing at the South Entrance for the following reasons:
- The Happy Entry lane for eligible hotel guests is at the North Gate.
- There are two toilet facilities located at the south end (only one is available at the north).
What Time Should I Arrive at Tokyo DisneySea/Tokyo Disneyland to Secure a Disney Premier Access for the Fantasy Springs Area
The Fantasy Springs area at Tokyo DisneySea opened in June 2024. From April 2025, you can queue at any of the attractions at Fantasy Springs. While waiting in line may seem like an easy thing to do, the wait time for Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey can be as long as 200 minutes.
Thus, the Disney Premier Access for Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey can be gone in 15 minutes after Tokyo DisneySea opens!
So, if you intend to purchase Disney Premier Access for Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, the best arrival time at Tokyo DisneySea is by 6:30 am (6 am to be safe).
Which Line to Queue at Tokyo Disneyland?

After passing the baggage checkpoint at Tokyo Disneyland, you will see several queuing lines in front of the entrance. The next decision you need to make is which line to join.
- If you arrive at Tokyo Disneyland before 7 am and there aren’t too many people lining up, we recommend joining the queues at one of the two sides of the entrance against the park walls because:
- These queues are closer to the toilets.
- You can clearly see the greetings before the park opens.
- If you arrive at Tokyo Disneyland after 7 am and there are already many people queuing up, the middle lines are recommended. The official hotel guests who can enter the park 15 minutes before the rest of the crowds are likely to be standing at the front. Thus, the length of those queues will suddenly reduce by 15 minutes before the park opens!
Important: Please avoid sending only one person to the queue at Tokyo Disney Resort, as the park prohibits this approach!
The Toilets Outside of Tokyo Disneyland’s Entrance
Knowing where the toilets are located is important if you plan to queue before Tokyo Disney Resort opens. So, refer to the below for the toilet/washroom locations:
- At the Donald and Mickey Area on the first/ground floor of the multi-storey car park (before baggage checkpoints)
- At Tokyo Disneyland Station’s first/ground floor (before the baggage checkpoints)
- Next to the baggage checkpoint, close to the car park (after the baggage checkpoint)
- Close to the ticket booths on the entrance’s left and right-hand side (after the baggage checkpoint)
