Don’t treat Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) as another theme park you can swing by whenever you want! The theme park is so popular that the admission tickets can be sold out! Because there are so many people in the park daily, the next question after you decide to visit is, “What time should I arrive?” To answer this question, first, you will need to know what time the theme park opens on the day.

What Time Does Tokyo Disney Resort Open?
The question may sound stupid as the information is widely available on Google and Tokyo Disney Resort’s website. However, it is a valid question when it comes to Tokyo Disney Resort because the theme park usually opens before its official opening hours! If you don’t plan on purchasing the Disney Premier Access but want to enjoy as many rides as possible, entering Tokyo Disney Resort as soon as the park opens is a must on a busy day.
- Weekdays/off-season: TDR usually opens between 8:45 am and 9 am.
- Weekends/busy season: TDR usually opens between 8:30 am and 8:45 am.
Long queues usually form around 8 am, and going through baggage and security checks at the entrance takes even more time. So, if you want to enter the Tokyo Disney Resort at 9 am, please arrive early!

Tip: Tokyo Disney Resort is less busy on weekdays from mid-January to mid-February and mid-April before the Golden Week.
What Time Should I Arrive at Tokyo Disney Resort?
Tokyo Disney Resort tends to open 15 to 45 minutes earlier than the time announced on the official website to reduce congestion at the entrance. So it is recommended that you get to Tokyo Disney Resort as early as possible! Please keep in mind that time is also required for baggage check at the entrance.
- If you have purchased the One-Day Passport (1デーパスポート), it is best to arrive at the park by 8 am (assuming resort opens at 9 am).
- On a busy day, you might actually enter Tokyo Disney Resort 20 to 30 minutes after the park opens.
- To get into the park earlier, you will want to arrive between 7 am and 7:30 am.
- Those at the front of the queue might arrive by 6:30 am.
- They will likely enter Tokyo Disney Resort within 5 minutes after the park opens.
- If you arrive by 6 am (5 am for DisneySea), you can get into the park within a minute or two.
Tip: As the first wave of crowds arrives on the first train to Maihama Station, stay at Spa & Hotel Maihama Eurasia the night before so you can walk to Tokyo Disney Resort instead of catching the first train.
- If you have purchased the Early Evening Passport (アーリーイブニングパスポート), it is best to arrive the park by 2:30 pm (assuming admission starts at 3 pm).
- If you have purchased the Weeknight Passport (ウィークナイトパスポート), it is best to arrive the park by 4:30 pm (assuming admission starts at 5 pm).
Important: Please ensure you don’t bring any prohibited items listed on the Official Website to Tokyo Disney Resort.
Tips:
☛ The baggage checkpoint in front of Disneyland Station may be less packed as most guests would use the one closer to Maihama Station or the car park.
☛ Please put all your belongings in your bag and arrange it in a way that is easy for the staff to check. This will shorten the time spent at the baggage checking point.

Which Line to Queue at Tokyo Disneyland?

After passing the baggage checkpoint at Tokyo Disneyland, you will see several queuing lines in front of the entrance. The next decision you need to make is which line to join.
- If you arrive at the resort before 7 am and there aren’t too many people queuing up, we recommend joining the lines at one of the two sides of the entrance against the park walls because:
- These queues are closer to the toilet
- You can clearly see the greetings before the park opens
- If you arrive at Tokyo Disney Resort after 7 am and there are already many people queuing up, the middle lines are recommended. The official hotel guests who can enter the park 15 minutes before the rest of the crowds are likely to be standing at the front. Thus, the length of those queues will suddenly reduce by 15 minutes before the park opens!
Important: Please avoid sending only one person to queue at Tokyo Disney Resort, as the park prohibits this approach!
The Toilets Outside of Tokyo Disneyland’s Entrance
Knowing where the toilets are located is important if you plan to queue before Tokyo Disney Resort opens. So refer to the below for the toilet/washroom locations:
- At the Donald and Mickey Area on the first/ground floor of the multi-storey car park (before baggage checkpoints)
- At Tokyo Disneyland Station’s first/ground floor (before the baggage checkpoints)
- Next to the baggage checkpoint close to the car park (after the baggage checkpoint)
- Close to the ticket booths on the entrance’s left and right-hand side (after the baggage checkpoint)

Which Area to Queue at Tokyo DisneySea?
Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea’s entrance is narrower. Currently, the park has two gates: North and South. We would recommend queuing at the South Gate for the following reasons:
- The Happy Entry lane for eligible hotel guests is at the North Gate.
- There are two toilet facilities at the south end (there is only one at the north).
