Second Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint (第二只見川橋梁ビューポイント)
While not so famous, there are three spots where you can see the Second Tadami River Bridge near JR Aizu-Nishikata Station (会津西方駅). The spots are just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the train station. In early summer, fog might cover the Tadami River underneath the Second Tadami River Bridge!

The Third Tadami River Bridge is between Aizu-Miyashita Station (会津宮下駅) and Hayato Station (早戸駅). As with the Second Tadami River Bridge, three spots offer a clear view of the Third Tadami River Bridge.
How to Get to the Third Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint
- From Takashimizu Snowshed (高清水スノーシェッド): The most well-known spot to see the bridge is inside the Takashimizu Snowshed on National Route 252. As traffic on National Route 252 is usually heavy and parking inside the snowshed is extremely limited, it is the hardest viewing spot to reach among the three.
That said, your effort will pay off. You can look down the Third Tadami River Bridge and the meandering Tadami River from a diagonal angle.
- From the border of Mishima and Kaneyama Town: You can also get a photo of the Third Tadami River Bridge from the opposite direction. Instead of following National Route 252, take the Prefectural Road 237 towards Kaneyama Town (金山町). There are two viewpoints along the Prefectural Road 237 as shown on Google Maps. The one near the border of Mishima Town (三島町) and Kaneyama Town (金山町) has Takashimizu Snowshed in the background.

Tip: The “Double Shot” Window (07:37 AM – 07:44 AM and 09:16 AM – 09:21 AM). Because trains traveling in opposite directions pass each other and pause at Aizu-Miyashita station, stationing at the 3rd bridge viewpoints during these two windows can catch two different trains within less than 10 minutes without moving the tripods.
Fourth Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint (第四只見川橋梁ビューポイント)
The Fourth Tadami River Bridge is clearly seen from Mizunuma Bridge (水沼橋). The Truss bridge, which is an 8-minute walk from Aizu-Mizunuma Station (会津水沼駅), is directly opposite it.
You can also see the Fourth Tadami River Bridge shortly after exiting the snowshed, as shown in the Google Maps below.
Note that the train would be partially blocked by the bridge’s structure if seen from the two spots already mentioned. If you want a clear photo of the train and the bridge, you must trek further on the National Route 252 to the foot of the Forth Tadami River Bridge.

Fifth Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint (第5只見川橋梁ビューポイント)
Moving onto the Fifth Tadami River Bridge, the train passes deeper into the Kaneyama region. The Fifth Bridge is located between Aizu-Kawaguchi Station (会津川口駅) and Honna Station (本名駅). Because Aizu-Kawaguchi is a major hub where trains often pause or change drivers, you will usually have at least a 10-minute break before the train departs.
The Fifth Tadami River Bridge can be easily seen from the side of National Route 252. However, parking near the spot is limited, and traffic is usually heavy. So, be careful while taking photos.
Note that there is another observation spot near the bridge’s north end, where you can overlook the bridge. However, it is on private property. Please only access it with the owner’s permission.

Shortly after the train leaves Honna Station (本名駅), the train will pass through the Sixth Tadami River Bridge. The Honna Dam (本名ダム) will be on the train’s right, so be ready to snap a photo!
