Maipari Miyakojima Tropical Orchard (まいぱり 宮古島熱帯果樹園) doesn’t just have fruit trees but also farm animals that you can meet! The orchard also has a cafe, perfect for a rest from swimming and other beach activities!
Pari means field in Miyako-jima’s language. So just like its name has suggested, the orchard is a field growing fruits next to Maihama Beach. It has so many tropical fruit trees that it is almost like a jungle!
Of course, you can do fruit picking in the orchard. And if that is too much hard work for you, head straight to the orchard cafe for fresh juice or a tropical juice ice pop (^_-)-☆. Depending on the season you visit the orchard, they might have freshly cut mango, pineapple, dragon fruit, guava, and more for you to enjoy.

Touring Maipari Miyakojima Tropical Orchard
In addition to fruit picking, there are electric carts for you to board, which will take you around the orchard. Joining the 25-minute Tropical Guide Tour (トロピカルガイドツアー) is the easiest way to explore the spacious orchard ground with more than 6,000 trees.
Even if you don’t understand what the Japanese guide is saying, it is still a better way to enjoy the orchard than relying on your feet.

Another highlight of Maipari Miyakojima Tropical Orchard is the Miyako Horse. The Japanese native horse breed is designated as an Okinawan natural monument. Categorized as pony, they are smaller in shape, but their hoofs are large and hard, suitable for walking on the hard Ryūkyū limestone promenade, and helped the islanders with farming.
