Blue Sky Coffee: The Gorgeous Cafe Buried in Inokashira Park

Besides INOKA, Blue Sky Coffee (ブルースカイコーヒー) is another place to head for a coffee break in Inokashira Park. It is also the spot for all cat lovers. However, just to be clear, this isn’t a cat cafe. It is a place where you can purchase cat-shaped donuts (ねこドーナツ)!

About Blue Sky Coffee

Blue Sky Coffee is located on the front porch of a private residence. Because the house is surrounded by rich vegetation, without the blackboards and signs, you will most likely feel a bit envious as you pass by. The owner of the residence can practically enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside and the convenience of Kichijōji!

The coffee beans used in the take-out cafe are roasted in-house. Despite their great quality, the owner doesn’t advertise the bean’s origin. He doesn’t want his shop to be remembered as a place selling single-origin coffee, even though Blue Sky Coffee’s coffee is phenomenal!

Moreover, various cute elements are used to decorate his coffee stand to attract customers and make it more approachable. In addition, the price tag of all the menu items is affordable!

A couple of cat donuts in two colors are placed on the pastry display: ginger and dark brown. The dark brown cat is a chocolate flavor donut. Although chocolate usually gives us a sugary image, the stereotype doesn’t apply to Blue Sky Coffee’s cat donuts. It has a strong chocolate taste but it isn’t overly sugary.

As the donuts are not deep-fried, they are a bit healthier than the ones sold at most places around the world.

Tips:
☛ Even if there is a queue, the waiting time shouldn’t be too long.
☛ The cat donuts may run out after 3 pm, depending on the day.
